On this platform, the word, Avatar, refers to an emergent archetypal pattern that characterizes the evolved human design.
The Sanskrit word, Avatar (or Avatara), literally means “descent.” It refers to the descent of divinity to the material reality, and is typically used to describe an incarnation of God. This great descent is the actual embodiment of one’s greater nature, the Divine Presence and Supreme Self.
Quite simply, an Avatar is a fully enlightened being and a manifestation of the love of God. These emissaries of light possess many powerful abilities, determined by their unique service and blessings to humanity, which is their highest purpose.
This is a level of evolutionary advancement when one is self-realized and who operates from deep coherence with their totality. Avataric consciousness has transcended not only separateness but also its entire selfhood.
We can point to many of the great Avatars that have attained this state of oneness with their Supreme Self. Great examples include the founders of the world’s major religions such as the Buddha, Krishna, and Jesus Christ.
There are the more recent Avatars such as Sri Ramana Maharshi, Sri Anandamayi Ma, Paramahansa Yogananda, Mother Meera, Meyer Baba and Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma), to name a handful of the more recognizable names.
This list, though, is swelling quite fast as it keeps in pace with the quickening of consciousness that is occurring on our planet today. People all over the world are already making this quantum leap.
